BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University women’s tennis (0-2) fell 6-1 to College of Charleston (1-0) on Saturday afternoon in its home opener at Yonahlossee Racquet Club.
The No. 3 doubles spot was the first to finish as the Mackenzie LaSure and Andre Remi team suffered a 6-2 setback. Melissa Machado and Megan Mullen followed shortly at the No. 2 spot, falling 6-3, giving the Cougars the doubles point.
The final No. 1 spot was played out, however, as duo team Clare Cox and Heidi Swope battled hard to push the match to a tiebreaker.
