SANDESTIN, Fla. – A fantastic round of golf by junior Joliana Elias amid wet and challenging conditions helped App State finish day one of the Sun Belt Championship in a tie for fourth place on Sunday at The Raven Golf Club.
App State turned in a team round of 307, tied with UT Arlington for fourth place on the team leaderboard. Coastal Carolina (297), Georgia Southern (299) and Troy (300) top the standings after one round.
Elias, who was third at this tournament a year ago, fired a 1-over 72 to pace the way for the Mountaineers.
