App State Battles to a 10-9 Win Over Tennessee State in Nine Innings

NASHVILLE, TENN. – Appalachian State (10-6) finished its trip to the Music City with a win in extra innings against Tennessee State (2-7).

Four Mountaineers had a multi-hit game against the Tigers. Keri White and Jenny Dodd each had three hits apiece to contribute to the team's season-high 13 combined hits.

After a five-run first inning for the Tigers, the Mountaineers lessened their lead to one run in the top of the third off of two hits and three errors. In the top of the fourth, App State took the lead after singles from White, Haley Stewart and Mary Pierce Barnes and a double from Dodd, to make the score 6-5.
