DOMZALE, Slovenia –– Appalachian State University men’s basketball got its first game under its belt on Saturday when they traveled from Ljubljana to nearby Domzale to challenge the 2015-16 Slovenia League champions, the Helios Suns.
The national title last year was the Suns’ second title in their history. Helios also won the title in 2006-07.
The Mountaineers got off to a slow start, but responded quickly. After getting down 11-0 at the start of the contest, Appalachian State clawed its way back to within single digits - even tying the game against their Premier A Slovenian League opponent.
