App State Alum Jaylin Davis Called Up To Major Leagues

BOONE, N.C. — Make that two Appalachian State Mountaineers in the Majors.

The San Francisco Giants called up App State alum and outfielder Jaylin Davis on Wednesday. He was tied for No. 4 among all minor league players this season with 35 home runs and had posted 94 RBIs with a .306 batting average in 126 games.

Davis hit 25 homers and totaled 69 RBIs in 68 games at the Triple A level this season, including 10 homers with a .333 batting average in 27 games for the Sacramento River Cats since being traded to the Giants organization from the Minnesota Twins at the beginning of August.
