MOBILE, Ala. — National Signing Day arrived for Appalachian State Football with a southern Alabama twist.
Twenty-three student-athletes from the Class of 2018 signed with head coach Scott Satterfield's program Wednesday, three days before the Mountaineers (8-4) play Toledo (11-2) in the Dollar General Bowl.
This is the first year with a December signing period, which comes before the February period that still exists, and this month's three-day signing window began a day after App State's team landed in Mobile.
