BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State will host its annual football alumni tailgate before the Mountaineers' season-opening home game on Aug. 31. App State will kick off against East Tennessee State at 3:30 p.m., and the alumni tailgate will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Sofield Family Indoor Practice Facility adjacent to Kidd Brewer Stadium.

Alums are also invited to join in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of former head coach and College Football Hall of Famer Jerry Moore's arrival in Boone. Further details on that celebration are coming soon.
