U.S. vs. Colombia at women's World Cup: Tied, 0-0, in second half

Abby Wambach misses a penalty shot in the 49th minute. By a lot.

Her left-footed shot was way wide to the left.

The penalty came after Colombia keeper Catalina Perez was red-carded for a dangerous tackle on Alex Morgan at the edge of the box in the opening minute of the second half. She was replaced by Stefany Castano, who didn't have to move on the Wambach penalty.

The Colombians are missing their regular keeper, Sandra Sepulveda, who was suspended for the match with yellow cards. The red card also forced them to remove forward Ingrid Vidal, leaving them a player down for the rest of the game.
