Records set during Dodgers-Rockies marathon game might never be broken

With Major League Baseball expected to consider limiting the number of players on a September roster, the Dodgers and Colorado Rockies may have just set records that might never be broken.

On Tuesday night -- and Wednesday morning -- the Dodgers and Rockies combined to use 58 players and 24 pitchers during a 5-4 Colorado win in 16 innings. Never before had a major league game included more than 54 players or 21 pitchers.

This was made possible, of course, with team rosters that expand from 25 players in the first five months of the year to a maximum of 40 for the final month.
