NHL Rumors: The Hurricanes Don’t Think They’ll Be Able To Re-sign Either Goaltender, and Ducks Not Thinking Of Long-Term Effects Of Perry Buyout

Tom Gulitti of NHL.com: Carolina Hurricanes GM Don Waddell said yesterday that he doesn’t think he’ll be able to sign either of his unrestricted goaltenders – Petr Mrazek or Curtis McElhinney.

“We’re trying to sign them, but it doesn’t look like we’re going to get either signed,” Hurricanes general manager Don Waddell said Tuesday. “So, if not, we’ll go to the market and see what’s out there for July 1.”

Both goalies will go through the interview process. It is possible that they could circle back to one of them.
