The Gulls lost their final 2 regular season games against division leading Tuscon, they needed at least a point from either of those games to stay in the playoff picture. Kevin Boyle started the first game and kept them in it up until the final 3 minutes when a costly bad zone clearance led to an outnumbered scoring chance down low.
