The fiery crash occurred shortly after 7 a.m. when a driver veered from the westbound lanes into oncoming traffic in the eastbound lanes of the bridge, said Marlene Arrona, spokeswoman for the Long Beach Police Department. The male driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while another male driver was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
