The Anaheim Ducks did what they do best last night: beat Western Conference Canadian teams. Even without some of their star players, they were easily able to contain the Vancouver Canucks. The Ducks victory marked Vancouver’s second road loss of the season, which is astounding to consider.
Anaheim’s power play was the story of the night. Even while icing an all-AHL second unit, the first group was able to consistently apply pressure on Jacob Markstrom. The Ducks finished three for six with the man advantage. Rickard Rakell led the way with three assists on the power play.
