Ducks' Silfverberg does not travel with team due to upper-body injury

Ducks right wing Jakob Silfverberg did not travel with the team Friday because of an upper-body injury, a team spokesman said.

Silfverberg left Thursday’s game in the third period, shortly after a hit from Colorado’s Nikita Zadorov, and is considered day-to-day. Silfverberg’s head is believed to have hit the ice but it is not known if he suffered a head injury.

The Ducks were expected to recall a forward as they left for a two-game trip that starts Saturday at the Minnesota Wild. They did not practice Friday.

Silfverberg is having a breakout season with 13 goals in 48 games and is one of the NHL’s best two-way forwards.
