The Ducks have announced that they have signed head coach Randy Carlyle to a 1-year extension that will keep him in Anaheim through the 2017-2018 season. Per club policy, the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Carlyle signed a 2-year deal in June of 2016 to return to the Ducks after having previously coached them from 2005-2012.
The Ducks exceeded many observers expectations with a deep playoff run this season, making it to Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals and earning the grizzled bench boss an extra year of job security (as much as one can have as a head coach in the NHL).
