Doug “Sluggo” Shearer has spent the past eleven seasons working as the Anaheim Ducks head equipment manager. Doug has worked tirelessly every season to make sure that the team is kept safe on the ice. However, after 34 seasons in the NHL, he is ready for a much-deserved retirement.
During his career, Doug worked with the Washington Capitals from 1983-2007. Since leaving Washington, he has faithfully worked alongside our players in Anaheim. His dedication to the job has also earned him the position as the equipment manager during several World Championships. He was also the equipment manager at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.
