Anaheim Ducks Select Brayden Tracey With 29th Pick In 2019 NHL Draft

The Anaheim Ducks selected Brayden Tracey with their second pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft with the 29th overall selection. The pick was acquired in the deal that saw Brandon Montour sent to Buffalo last season.

Brayden Tracey, listed at 6’ 0” and 176 pounds, skated for the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL for the 2018-19 season, where he posted 36 goals and 81 points in 66 games at 18 years of age.

With proven snipers like Kaliyev, Lavoie and Leason available it was slightly shocking that the Ducks brass went with Tracey - ranked on most draft boards as a mid second rounder - but the more I read of him the more I like this as a high risk - high reward selection.
