The Anaheim Ducks sleeping giant has awaken. Corey Perry finally broke through and scored his first goal of the season in dramatic fashion Wednesday night against Florida.
The Ducks were down 2-1 as a bouncing puck came rolling to Perry with five seconds left in the game and he found the back of the net for the tying goal. Perry then dropped to his knees and looked up towards the heavens, exhaling a sigh of relief as his goal scoring drought had come to an end.
It was a typical Scorey Perry moment and now he and the rest of the Ducks look to carry momentum into tonight’s clash with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
