3 firefighters injured in 500-acre wildfire in Riverside County

A fast-moving brush fire in Riverside County spread to 500 acres Monday and injured three firefighters, authorities said.

A burning motor home sparked the blaze shortly before 12 p.m. along California 74 east of California 371 in Anza, about 20 miles southeast of Hemet, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

A person who lives inside the motor home was hospitalized with second- and first-degree burns, county fire officials said.

The fire tore through bone-dry vegetation, multiplying in size during the afternoon. As of 5 p.m., it was 10% contained.

Residents east of the Paradise Valley Café were ordered to evacuate.
