Two people were in critical condition and another six were injured when a tree fell Tuesday evening near a children's museum in Pasadena, authorities said.
Of the eight injured near the Kidspace Children's Museum, at least two are children, said Lisa Derderian, a spokeswoman for the Pasadena Fire Department. All eight were taken to the hospital.
The children had attended a day camp at the museum and were awaiting pickup from their parents when the tree, located in the adjacent Brookside Park, fell over, said Tim Scheidler, a marketing manager for the museum.
Firefighters were called to the site in the 400 block of North Arroyo Boulevard shortly before 5 p.
