2 held in double slaying at South L.A. McDonald's

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting two men over the weekend at a McDonald's parking lot in South Los Angeles, authorities said Monday.

Angel Mares, 22, and Abraham Dorantes, 21, are accused of killing two men shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the McDonalds in the 11800 block of Wilmington Avenue, Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez said. The restaurant is across the street from the newly reopened Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital in Willowbrook.

The shooting was prompted by an argument that erupted between the men inside the restaurant. Investigators say the dispute continued after the group left and one of the men brandished a handgun and opened fire.
