Wichita State Advances to NIT Quarterfinals with Win at Clemson, 63-55

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Jaime Echenique scored a game-high 18 points, and sixth-seeded Wichita State held off No. 2 Clemson, 63-55, Sunday afternoon to advance to the NIT quarterfinals. It was the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

WSU (21-14) plays at No. 1 seed Indiana on Tuesday night (7 p.m. ET, ESPN).

The Shockers never trailed but the Tigers were able to trim a 13-point lead to three in the final minute.

Samajae Haynes-Jones, who already had two buzzer-beating makes this season, delivered the biggest shot of the game -- a step-back three with 30 seconds to play that extended a 58-55 lead to 61-55.
