PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s lacrosse honors, for the week ending Monday, March 4.
Attacker of the Week
Emily Mathewson * Jr. * Vanderbilt
Mathewson netted the game-winning goal in overtime against Louisville on Feb. 27, finding the back of the net with just four seconds remaining in overtime. Her score pushed Vanderbilt to a perfect 4-0 on the season, and was part of a game that saw Mathewson score twice on three shots. Her first goal sparked the Commodores’ 7-0 run to put the visitors in front.
