UTSA defeated Texas, 7-4, on Sunday night, June 1, to win the Austin Regional and claim its first NCAA Regional Championship in program history.
Coming into this year's national tournament, the Roadrunners were 0-6 in previous NCAA Regionals. After defeating Kansas State on Friday and Texas on Saturday night, UTSA had to defeat the Longhorns once again to advance to the Super Regionals.
Norris McClure hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first and UTSA scored five runs in the bottom of the third to take a commanding lead. Gunnar Brown (4-2) earned the win, going 5.
