PROVIDENCE, R.I. – USF senior Alberto Barroso-Campos, who led the Bulls to their fifth American Athletic Conference title in six years, has been chosen as The American’s 2019 Men’s Tennis Player of the Year by the league’s 10 head coaches.
USF’s Chase Ferguson, who stepped into the No. 2 spot on the Bulls’ singles ladder in his first season, was named as The American’s Freshman of the Year. USF head coach Ashley Fisher, who led the Bulls to the 2019 American title, was chosen by his counterparts as The American Coach of the Year.
A native of Montijo, Spain, Barroso-Campos was named The American Player of the Year after he went 20-2 in dual matches at No.
