USF Captures Third Consecutive American Men’s Tennis Championship

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Top-seeded USF captured its third consecutive American Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Championship with a 4-0 win over No. 2 seed Tulsa on Sunday at the Dunavant-Wellford Tennis Center on the campus of the Memphis University School.

Peter Bertran clinched the match and the NCAA automatic qualifier for the Bulls with a 6-4, 7-5 at No. 4 singles against Tulsa's Carlos Bautista. Roberto Cid was named the Most Outstanding Tournament Performer after producing four combined wins in singles and doubles, including a semifinal win (6-2, 7-5) against the No. 2 ranked singles player in the country in Tulane's Domink Koepfer.
