PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s first weekly women’s basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 19.
Player of the Week
Megan Walker * Jr. * F * UConn
Walker led UConn to three conference wins in six days, averaging 19 points, 7.3 rebounds, two assists and 2.7 steals per game. The junior converted on 21-of-40 (52.5 percent) from the field over the three games, which included victories over Memphis, UCF and Tulsa. Walker scored 14 points with nine boards at Memphis, dishing out three assists and four steals, and followed with a team-high 19 points at UCF.
