PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s final weekly men’s golf honors for the ninth week of the spring golf season.
MEN’S GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Drake Hull – UConn – RS-Jr. – Rutland, Vt.
Hull captured the first tournament victory of his college career Sunday, topping a 78-player field to win individual medalist honors at the Rutherford Intercollegiate, played at the Penn State Blue Course.
The redshirt-junior began Sunday's final round as part of a four-way tie for third place on the leaderboard, but fired a 3-under par 68 – his third straight sub-par round of the tournament – in tough, rainy conditions, to not only break free of the tie, but also pass the golfers who had held first and second place.
