PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Three American Athletic Conference teams were among the 64 announced Monday to compete in the 2016 NCAA Baseball Championship.
Tulane, the 2016 American Athletic Conference regular-season champion, and East Carolina were selected to the field for the second consecutive year. UConn, which won the 2016 American Athletic Conference Championship Sunday, will make its first NCAA appearance since 2013.
All three American Athletic Conference teams will begin tournament play Friday, June 3, on ESPN3.
UConn will head to Gainesville, Florida, as the No. 3 seed in the four-team, double-elimination regional, pairing the Huskies against No.
