PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 13.
Player of the Week
Kay Kay Wright * Jr. * G * UCF
Wright averaged 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game in a 2-0 week for UCF that included a pair of key conference wins. The Knights earned the program’s second-ever victory at USF on Tuesday, with Wright recording 20 points, five rebounds and three steals. On Sunday, the junior netted the game-winning shot with five seconds left and sealed the game with a steal, giving UCF a 56-55 victory over Cincinnati.
