IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball awards for the week ending Sunday, February 12.
Player of the Week
Lauren Lucas, Jr., OF, Wichita State
Lucas started off the season on a tear, slashing .647/.684/1.176 for the 4-1 Shockers. She finished with a conference-best 12 RBI. Lucas finished with six doubles and one home run, while recording at least one hit in every game she played, including multiple hits in four out of the five games. In the season opener against Villanova, she went 4-for-4 at the plate with a career-high six RBI.
