PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The UCF varsity eight earned the American Boat of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. The award marks the second accolade for the Knights’ varsity eight this season.
Competing at the Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships, the varsity eight collected two victories. On Friday, UCF beat Tulsa to the line, posting a time of 6:31.7. On Saturday, The boat, consisting of Nicole Mayer, Lauren Aiello, Ashleigh Boyd, Julie Poulsen, Marija Medelinskaite, Viktorija Senkute, Mia Cleary, Edvina Nesukaityte and Zana Krakic, posted a winning time of 6:34.3.
UCF will head west to compete at the Lake Natoma Invitational on April 8-9.
