PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer honors for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 22.
Offensive Player of the Week
Garrett McLaughlin * Sr. * F * SMU
McLaughlin recorded a goal in both of SMU’s victories last week, with both scores coming at crucial moments. The senior’s tally in the 22nd minute at No. 2 Duke on Sept. 16 proved to be the game-winner as SMU shut out the Blue Devils 2-0. McLaughlin then broke through for SMU in the 88th minute at Denver on Saturday, sending the contest to overtime with a bicycle goal.
