No. 7 UCF 69, No. 10 Florida 52
The UCF women's basketball team made history Saturday afternoon with a 69-52 victory over Florida. The seventh-seeded Knights earned the first NCAA Tournament victory in program history, topping the 10th-seeded Gators in first-round action at Gampel Pavilion.
Brittney Smith scored a career-high 26 points, Diamond Battles added 18, and Masseny Kaba chipped in with 14, as UCF advanced to the second round to take on regional host UConn on Monday.
