PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Tulsa's varsity eight has earned the fourth American Athletic Conference Boat of the Week honors of the 2016 season.
The Hurricane varsity eight took first place in the grand final at the Knecht Cup, held on Mercer Lake in West Windsor Township, N.J., from April 9-10. There were a total of 31 teams that competed in the women's varsity eight race.
Tulsa advanced to the grand final after the crew took first place in the Sunday morning semifinal, with a time of 6:50.47.
In the afternoon, the Hurricane took first in the grand final in a field of six boats, crossing the finish line at 6:48.
