Tulsa's Saarteinen Named American Athletic Conference Player of the Year

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Tulsa senior Saana Saarteinen was named the 2016 American Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year by the league's 11 head coaches.

USF's Ana Roman Dominguez was honored as the Freshman of the Year, while Tulsa's Dean Orford was selected as the Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Saarteinen led the top-seeded Golden Hurricane to its second straight conference title with a 4-0 win against No. 2-seeded USF. The senior was chosen as the tournament's Most Outstanding Performer as she combined for a 3-0 record at No.
