Tulsa’s Pearson Named 2022 American Men’s Tennis Player of the Year

IRVING, Texas – Tulsa junior Kody Pearson has been chosen as the 2022 American Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Players of the Year by the league’s head coaches.

Memphis standout Pablo Alemany Malea, was named as The American’s Freshman of the Year. SMU head coach Grant Chen was chosen by his counterparts as The American Coach of the Year.

A native of Sydney, Australia, Pearson earned Player of the Year honors after he finished the regular season ranked No. 47 in the ITA singles rankings, claimed The American’s automatic entrant into the NCAA Singles Championships, and helping the Golden Hurricane receive an at-large bid to the NCAA team championship.
