PROVIDENCE, R.I. – It was a banner day in cross country for the American Athletic Conference on Friday. The American membership saw two regional champions crowned, a combined six NCAA Championship automatic bids secured and 21 student-athletes earn all-region citations after competing in 2019 NCAA Division I regional championship meets across the United States.

Tulsa, the reigning cross country team champions of The American, earned automatic bids to the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Nov. 23. In the men’s 10K race on Friday, the Golden Hurricane scored 37 points to win the NCAA Midwest Regional in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
