MOBILE, Ala. — Zuberi Mobley rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns, and Tulane held off a furious late rally to beat South Alabama 33-31 on Saturday night at Hancock Whitney Stadium.
Mobley scored from 16 yards out late in the first quarter and added a 28-yard burst early in the fourth to put the Green Wave (2-0) ahead 33-17. Jake Retzlaff threw a 5-yard touchdown to Johnny Pascuzzi and ran for another score, while Patrick Durkin kicked field goals of 50 and 34 yards.
The Jaguars (1-1) stormed back behind quarterback Bishop Davenport, who threw two touchdowns to Devin Voisin, including a 26-yarder with 59 seconds left.
