IRVING, Texas - Three American Athletic Conference football players have been chosen to the 2020-21 Academic All-America Division I football teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Cincinnati punter James Smith, SMU wide receiver Tyler Page and Navy special teams standout Kyle Gibbs were all second-team selections.
Smith completed his career as Cincinnati's leading punter and as a four-time all-conference selection (first team in 2017 and 2018, second team in 2019 and 2020). He earned All-America status and was a finalist for the Ray Guy award in 2018. He averaged 43.6 yards per punt in his career.
