Freshman Kitija Laksa poured in a career-high 38 points in an 83-56 win over SMU on Thursday evening. The 38-point performance ranks second in American Athletic Conference history, trailing Zykira Lewis who registered 41 points last season. Laksa connected on 15-of-24 field goal attempts, which ties the conference single game field goal record, and went 8-for-12 from long range. Laura Ferreira complimented Laksa with 12 points and as many rebounds while Laia Flores distributed eight assists. McKenzie Adams scored 20 points for the Mustangs while Gabrielle Wilkins registered a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
