IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly women's basketball awards for the week ending Sunday, January 1.
Player of the Week
Aleah Nelson, Gr., G, Temple
Nelson put forth a dominate display for the Owls in their American Athletic Conference opening win over Memphis. The graduate guard scored 20 points, making 6-of-12 from behind the arc. She added eight rebounds, two steals and six assists while committing no turnovers. Nelson is just the third player in the NCAA Division I since 2009-10 with 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals, six made three-pointers and no turnovers.
