Stewart and Auriemma Claim Top AP Honors

INDIANAPOLIS (www.uconnhuskies.com) - UConn women's basketball head coach Geno Auriemma has been named Associated Press National Coach of the Year, while senior forward Breanna Stewart was honored as the AP National Player of the Year for the third-straight season, as announced on Saturday.

Auriemma and Stewart have led the Huskies to a 36-0 overall record on their way to a third-straight American Athletic Conference Regular Season title and Tournament Championship. Connecticut is 149-5 since Stewart joined the team in 2012-13 and have advanced to the Final Four in all four seasons and won three national championships.
