PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference is saddened by the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery, and all the victims of racial violence and human rights violations. We send our deepest condolences to their families and loved ones.
This is a time for all of us to renew and reinforce our commitment to racial justice and equality, which is central to our core values and mission. In an effort to acknowledge and address these fundamental concerns in a meaningful way, we will make them a primary focus of our Academic Consortium and Symposia, and will devote resources across our conference to their study and to the development of action plans.
