TAMPA, Fla. – South Florida graduate linebacker Jhalyn Shuler has been named the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week and the Walter Camp National FBS Defensive Player of the Week following the Bulls' 34-7 win against No. 25 Boise State.
Shuler, who was earlier named the American Conference Defensive Player of the Week and also earned the Frisco Bowl Defensive Player of the Week honor, was all over the field posting a career-best 14 tackles in leading an impressive effort for the Bulls defense. Shuler added a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery on Boise State's first drive of the game, ending a scoring threat at the USF39.
