IRVING, Texas--South Florida All-American Sydny Nasello was selected in the second round of the 2022 NWSL College Draft Saturday, Dec. 18.
Nasello was picked by the Portland Thorns with the first pick of the second round (13th overall). She is the second student-athlete from South Florida to be taken in the NWSL Draft after Evelyne Viens was picked fifth overall in 2020.
Nasello, who is the program's second-ever two-time All-American, helped lead the Bulls over the last four seasons to four American Athletic Conference championships, earning a title in each season she was on the team.
