TAMPA, Fla. – No. 2 South Florida overcame a four-run deficit to defeat No. 4 North Texas 5-4 in the American Softball Championship final game. It marks the first American Softball Championship for the Bulls.
North Texas started off hot to begin the game. Riley McNemar got on base with a single before Elizabeth Moffitt brought her home with a two-run home run to center field.
The Mean Green continued scoring in the second inning. With two runners in scoring position, McNemar connected on a line drive down the left field line to score both runners and push the lead to four runs.
