SMU’s Meissner, Houston’s Kondis Named To CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Second Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A pair of student-athletes representing the American Athletic Conference were tabbed as at-large 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-America selections, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced on Friday (June 19).

SMU junior men’s golfer Mac Meissner and Houston senior women’s swimmer Peyton Kondis each earned CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team honors. Both Meissner and Kondis were named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans for the first time in their respective careers.

Meissner, a two-time All-America (2018 and 2019) choice, led SMU with a program record 70.44 stroke average over 18 rounds played this season on his way to being recognized as SMU’s Male Student-Athlete of the Year.
