SMU Moves Into Team Lead, Petronzio Atop Medalist Race Following Day Two Of 2022 American Men’s Golf Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Beautiful weather on Saturday yielded great scoring conditions for teams on day two of the 2022 American Men’s Golf Championship at Southern Hills Plantation Club.

SMU carded an 11-under-par round of 277 in round two to move to the front of the team leaderboard by one stroke at 559 (282-277, -17) through 36 holes. Houston checked in just behind the Mustangs with a two-round score of 560 (278-282). SMU’s Nathan Petronzio held the overnight lead in the individual draw for the second straight day.

The average score after two rounds at Southern Hills Plantation Club was 73.
