IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer awards for the first week of the 2022 season, ending Sunday, August 28.

Jose Ortiz, Jr., F. SMU
Ortiz got off to a blazing start to the 2022 campaign, as the junior came up with a hat trick in the Mustang’s 4-0 win over Oral Roberts. His first goal came just 20 seconds into the match, before he followed with his second goal nine minutes later.
